Toronto’s Best Spring Farmers’ Markets

Share This Post:

When you call Toronto home, you have an unlimited amount of community events that you can visit on just about every day of the week! When spring rolls around, we know that it’s time for some of the city’s best farmers’ markets to set up shop.

Here is where you can find the freshest selection of fresh fruits, vegetables, and more:

Evergreen Brick Works Farmers’ Market

When: Saturdays, 8am – 1pm, from May 6th – November 4th

Where: Evergreen Brick Works

Why: Not only is this Toronto’s largest farmers’ market, but it is also set in the picturesque backdrop of the Don Valley Brick Works – a converted quarry and industrial site that has become an urban oasis and cultural centre. Its local and seasonal food alone is worth the trip, but strolling around the marvelous grounds could keep you busy all day long.

Trinity Bellwoods Farmers’ Market

When: Tuesdays, 3pm – 7pm, from May 9th – October 31st

Where: Trinity Bellwoods Park

Why: Trinity Bellwoods is already the epicentre of everything cool in Toronto’s West End, which makes this farmers’ market one you just have to check out. Local artisans and farmers congregate in the park’s northwest corner, selling products of all kinds for anyone passing through. This farmers’ market is perfect for a late afternoon stroll. Just make sure to head there right after work, so that nothing runs out before you arrive.

The Leslieville Farmers’ Market

When: Sundays, 9am – 2pm, from May 21st – October 29th

Where: Jonathan Ashbridge Park

Why: Leslieville is known for being family-first and neighbourhood-based, and this farmers’ market is proof! Imagine grabbing a coffee, groceries for the week, and then a quick snack all in one visit – that is what’s in store for you when you pay this market a visit. Grab something for lunch and then head down to Woodbine Beach to enjoy it by the lake.

The Junction

When: Saturdays, 9am – 1pm, from May 27th – November 4th

Where: Junction Train Platform (2960 Dundas Street W)

Why: Already stationed in one of Toronto’s most exciting neighbourhoods, this market is an easy way to find artisanal charcuterie, honey, wine, and canned preserves right in Toronto’s West End. They even host a night market, which is bringing even more excitement to The Junction.

Sorauren Farmers’ Market

When: Mondays, 3pm – 7pm, all year

Where: Sorauren Park

Why: Sitting in the shadows of an old mill, this market happens at the new Sorauren Town Square. This market has an old-world palazzo charm about it, with a classic and European feel. Stroll past the vendors, take in the live music, and then take a load off in the park. It might be Monday evening, but visiting here will have you feeling like the weekend never ended!

Humber Bay Shores Farmers’ Market

When: Saturdays, 9am –  2pm, May 27th – October 7th

Where: Humber Bay Park West

Why: Currently in its fifth year, the Humber Bay Shores Farmers’ Market is a great opportunity for folks in this area to gain access to fresh produce and other artisanal products from producers across Ontario. This is a farmers’ market on the rise, with fast growth for people living in this community.
