Why we love it: The unique old-world charm is still a defining characteristic of this west end community, and neighbourhood ties are strong.
This neighbourhood’s charm, shops, restaurants and convenient location attract a variety of residents. The annual Roncesvalles Polish Festival and fall Pumpkin Day Parade are two of the most popular community events. It has great biking and walking trails and many activities for kids and families including hockey, yoga, and outdoor movie nights.
Roncesvalles residents are close to the TTC and GO Transit. Motorists are a 15-minute drive to downtown and commuters can either take the bus to the Bloor-Danforth subway or the Queen streetcar to move across the city.
Roncesvalles real estate is full of turn-of-the-century Edwardian and Victorian houses, mostly semi-detached and row homes. There are many loft options in the area, including the Baseball Factory Lofts, Feather Factory Lofts, and Robert Watson Lofts.
Neighbourhood highlight: Close to High Park and Sorauren Park’s farmers’ markets.
