5 Places To Get the Perfect Bottle of Wine Tonight

Share This Post:

For some people, it’s an ideal way to wind down after a long day. For others, it’s the perfect accompaniment to a pitch-perfect plate of pasta. No matter when you like it, a tempting glass of vino can make life a little sweeter. Fortunately, there’s no shortage of bars and shops offering a fantastic wine selection for pickup and delivery—even during a pandemic.

Here are five places where you can find the wine you craze right now…

1) Paris Paris

Paris Paris is a charming Dundas West wine bar that (under normal circumstances) serves up small plates in a casual atmosphere. Of course, the bistro’s business model has shifted due to the ongoing pandemic, but one thing remains the same: the wine selection is impressive! In the online shop, you’ll find a wide variety of vino—ranging from high-quality staples to special-occasion bottles that will pair perfectly with some fancy snacks. Both are available for takeout and delivery right now.

2) Eataly

Located in vibrant Yorkville, Eataly is an Italian marketplace known for its pitch-perfect dishes and grocery items, top-notch cooking classes, and (you guessed it) fantastic wine. In this time of social distancing, you can still enjoy a bottle from this gourmand’s haven. It’s all available for delivery, but true oenophiles may want to consider joining the wine club (which offers two expertly-choosen selections per month, delivered to your door).

3) Paradise Grapevine

It seems like the small west-end enclave of Bloorcourt Village is becoming a little more interesting every day. Among its must-visit businesses, you’ll want to check out Paradise Grapevine (online, for the time being). This laidback bar is known for its eclectic selection of wine, from red and white to orange and sparkling. The brands it stocks are on the fun side, making a trip to the virtual shop anything but stuffy. Curbside pickup is available, as is free local same-day shipping for orders over $100.

4) Archive

Another Dundas West favourite, Archive is a small bar that offers a carefully curated selection of wine. There’s a strong focus on Ontario offerings, which makes patronizing this little hotspot an opportunity to support local wineries! One thing to be aware of is that your order will have to contain a food item, but don’t worry. You’ll want to try the selection of cheeses, cured meats, olives, and housemade pickles anyway. From Thursday to Sunday, Archive offers delivery and curbside pickup.

5) Boxcar Social

With locations in Riverside, Summerhill, and Harbourfront, this local cafe has become a hit with locals. Along with its perfectly roasted coffee and pantry items, Boxcar Social is currently selling a lovely selection of wine in its bottle shop. Check it out online, and you’ll be pleasantly surprised. There’s even an “under $35” if you’re feeling thrifty (because you don’t need to spend a small fortune on wine every month…)
