Earth Day is an annual event, celebrated on April 22, on which day events worldwide are held to demonstrate support for environmental protection.
It was first celebrated in 1970 and is now coordinated globally by the Earth Day Network, & celebrated in more than 192 countries each year.
Every year over 6,000,000 people and almost every school-aged child in Canada take part in annual Earth Day celebrations which can include events such as clean-ups, garage sales, and planting initiatives. Earth Day Canada has planned a special event for 2016, called #Rooting4Trees! This is a crowd-planting campaign during Earth Month, from
April 1–30. Earth Day Canada hopes to plant 25,000 legacy trees for Earth Day’s 25th Anniversary.There are lots of eco-fabulous perks for pledging trees, so if you would like to help by pledging to plant a tree, visit their site for more information. You don’t even have to get your hands dirty!
For even more Green Fun, visit the Green Living Show this weekend, April 15th-April 17th, at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre .
