July will certainly be an exiting month for Toronto as we host the games however may pose to be a challenging month for those looking to get around the downtown core. Congestion, grid lock, and crowed transit sadly seem to be the predictions of they city as we host the Pan Am and ParaPan Am Games. The temporary HOV lanes will be active until July 27th between 5 a.m. and 11 p.m. for cars with 3+ people in them. These lanes can be found on the 401, 404 and 427 as well as the DVP, Gardiner, QEW, and Lake Shore. Be aware that in addition to the traffic limited parking will be in effect around the Pan Am game venues and temporary traffic changes will be put into place to minimize further congestion in these areas. Area’s affected by the games are U of T, Ryerson, Exhibition Place, The Athlete’s village (Cherry St and King) Nathan Phillips Square and The Rogers centre.
