Anthony Rose’s is at it again with his latest addition to the Dupont strip. Bar Begonia is Rose’s 6th restaurant and will be a is a nearly all-day eatery with French flair and a focus on craft cocktails. Located at 252 Dupont Street, The 40-seat space has a bit of that cozy Parisian meets Brooklyn feel, with polished marble tabletops, wood benches and curly backed chairs. In the Spring and Summer months, a 30 seat patio will face onto Dupont Street.

“Le Menu” as they call it, is spliced into 8 categories. Just to name a few:Petites bouches (small bites), The raw section, a foie gras section, The after 5 p.m. offerings, where the portions are a bit more hearty, a late night menu and lastly a Brunch menu.

Bar Begonia is manned by general manager and former bartender slash current part owner of the Toronto Temperance Society, Oliver Stern and bar manager Veronica Saye. The small open kitchen – run by Trista Sheen, the former executive chef of the Crush Wine Bar – is visible from the street-facing windows.

I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait to try out this new hot-spot!
